When a client visits Pixirain, they arrive with past frustrations from broken freelancer quotes, opaque agency markups, and radio silence. The interface has roughly nine seconds to establish uncompromising trust and clarity. In this role, you will define the visual and interaction paradigms that make complex multi-stage creative projects feel straightforward, transparent, and exhilarating.
About the Team & Practice
Pixirain Design bridges strategic rigor with meticulous craft. We reject decorative fluff and generic SaaS aesthetics. Our philosophy treats words, spacing, latency, and interaction states as equal components of product design. You will be the sole design voice in high-stakes product decisions, collaborating directly with founders and senior engineers.
What You'll Do & Deliver
Concrete responsibilities you will own from your first month onward:
Lead product design from initial discovery through execution, edge-case exploration, microcopy authoring, and visual polish.
Develop and evolve the Pixirain Design System with unified typographic scales, color tokens, pixel-art motifs, and responsive components.
Architect intuitive, high-converting workflows for project onboarding, scoping, real-time collaboration, and delivery review.
Craft exceptional product copy — writing clear, human, unambiguous explanations for every button, modal, error state, and toast.
Partner closely with engineering to inspect builds, test interaction ergonomics, and maintain pixel-level fidelity in production.
Regularly engage with actual clients and delivery managers to observe real user behavior and discover unarticulated friction points.
What We Expect & How Success is Measured
Transparent milestone goals for your first 30, 60, and 90 days:
- 30 Days:Immerse yourself in the existing user journey, conduct workflow audits, and ship improvements to the client onboarding funnel.
- 60 Days:Lead the redesign or expansion of a foundational workspace feature (e.g. milestone review card or revision feedback interface).
- 90 Days:Establish comprehensive component library standards, unify interaction micro-animations, and reduce time-to-first-brief completion by measurable margins.
- Ongoing:Serve as the champion of user simplicity, ruthlessly eliminating unnecessary steps, jargon, and visual noise.

What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating shipped web or mobile digital products.
- Demonstrated ability to think through complete systems, end-to-end user flows, and subtle interactive states.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication — ability to articulate the rationale behind decisions without resorting to buzzwords.
- Deep aesthetic sensitivity combined with pragmatic respect for technical feasibility and business constraints.
Nice to have (bonus, not mandatory)
- Hands-on ability to prototype or write clean HTML/CSS/Tailwind code
- Prior experience in high-growth marketplace, fintech, or productivity software
- Background in pixel art, custom iconography, or editorial typography
